We have handwoven this natural alpaca scarf using a complex lace weave. The technique gives the fabric flexibility, transparency, drape and softness, creating an appearance reminiscent of lace or even stained glass as the light filters through a subtle play of light and shadow. This effect adds an elegant quality to the alpaca fabric. Light, soft, warm and easy to combine, it is a very distinctive piece.<\/p>\n

We have chosen a natural undyed grey tone, timeless and easy to wear:<\/p>\n

        Alpaca.<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n

        Alpaca comes from the Andes, in Peru. It is an exquisite fibre with a series of qualities that give it exceptional quality: it is very soft, very warm, thermoregulating, does not retain odours and, because its structure has very few scales, it does not felt easily. Alpaca pieces provide a great deal of warmth while remaining light, and are very pleasant to wear.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Finishes <\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n
          \n
        • Stitching:<\/strong> hand-worked running stitch on the first and last threads so the fabric does not unravel.<\/li>\n
        • Weft ends:<\/strong> manually woven in with a needle at the selvedges to avoid knots in the fabric.<\/li>\n
        • Fringes:<\/strong> knotted.<\/li>\n
        • Washing:<\/strong> hand washed with natural soap to check the quality of the fibre and the final measurements. In the first wash, the fibres settle and the fabric reaches its final size. After subsequent hand washes, it does not shrink further.<\/li>\n
        • Ironing:<\/strong> hand pressed with steam to enhance the finish, drape and texture.<\/li>\n
        • Brushing:<\/strong> brushed by hand to give an even softer, more pleasant feel when worn.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
