As a workshop specialised in handweaving on the loom, we develop and weave with natural fibres for professional textile projects that require fabrics or pieces with specific characteristics.
Our work is based on in-depth knowledge of weave structures, the behaviour of natural fibres on the loom and finishing processes. This path of study, practice and experience has given rise to our own textile language, always oriented towards real use.
Starting from an open idea, defined guidelines or a reference textile, we listen to your proposal and accompany you in shaping it. We advise you on structure, fibre, density, colour and finish in order to define and achieve the specific properties you need, whether to create, reproduce or reinterpret a textile within your project.
This service is designed for professionals who need to define a textile with technical judgement, as well as with an aesthetic direction, specific uses or applied research development.
We work with:
Fashion designers looking for textiles with their own visual language and specific performance qualities.
Interior designers and product designers who need performance, presence and durability.
Institutions and universities that value research, craft and knowledge sharing.
Galleries and curators who require technical reliability and textile research capacity.
Each project starts from a different point and has a defined technical and aesthetic objective. Our R&D development adapts to each one, and we offer the possibility of creating bespoke designs and textiles, including:
Textile studies for samples. Based on the needs presented and in order to achieve the textile objectives of the project, we can carry out a study for the creation of textile samples or prototypes.
Meterage fabrics (small series). Textile development and production in limited meterage for fashion designers, product designers or interior designers.
Fashion pieces. Scarves, shawls or any other piece that is the purpose of the project itself, woven with precision and excellent finishing.
Pieces for home and interior design. Blankets, rugs, cushions, poufs, table linens or characteristic pieces with specific uses defined in the project presented.
Textile works and projects. Wall pieces and artistic or exhibition pieces where the textile needs to sustain a concept with technical reliability.
Depending on how defined the project is, we can take on the full direction or work from given guidelines, always with the aim of reaching a validated sample and a textile that meets the specifications presented. We consider the following possibilities:
Delegated direction
You tell us the context, uses and what you need to achieve. From there, we carry out a detailed study to present the proposal: type of weave structure, fibres, colour palette, density and finishes, before producing the samples to be validated prior to weaving.
Co-creation (shared direction)
We work from your proposal with fixed requirements and defined parameters: technical requirements, fibres, aesthetics, colour palette and behaviour. We adapt our study to your detailed proposal. You provide the creative direction or project framework, and we translate it into textile through samples to be validated before weaving.
Reference textile (reproduce or reinterpret)
We start from an existing sample or textile in order either to reproduce it or reinterpret it, adapting it to the objectives and needs of the final textile or piece. We also present a sample for validation before weaving.
From our knowledge, we understand textiles as both a technical and creative language. We work from the idea to the specified textile, proposing and adapting parameters until we achieve the result you need. With us, you can count on:
Exhaustive knowledge of weave structures.
From simple to complex textiles, depending on their properties, function, use and design. We can propose the structure that best fits the project, choosing textures, densities and relief effects while controlling the result at every stage.
In-depth knowledge of the behaviour of natural fibres.
This allows us to advise on the fibres, thicknesses and yarns best suited to the needs of the project, based on their behaviour.
Real textile design development.
Tailored to the project, always with validated samples and the necessary adjustments.
Full control.
Over the entire R&D development and sampling process, as well as over the weaving. We offer the possibility of weaving limited series, subject to the real times of handmade production on our non-mechanised looms and without subcontracting.
Commitment to exclusivity and confidentiality.
We can sign confidentiality and exclusivity agreements for the textile designs and pieces of the project presented.
We know that every project is different, and you may come with a defined idea or build it with us. The objective may be the study and development of a sample, or the study, sample development and production in our workshop of the textile or pieces for the project. The important thing is to define the necessary details in order to achieve the expected results. Below you can see how we approach the phases and steps to follow
1. First meeting
2. Study and proposal
3. Samples and prototypes
4. Final textile
5. Shipping and delivery
We begin with a first meeting, by phone, online or in person at our workshop, to understand the needs, specifications and working approach: creative direction, co-creation or reproduction.
In order to propose and adapt the different possibilities, we will ask for details such as:
Brief note: The feasibility of each project depends on the design, structure and finishes, as well as on the real working times in our workshop. For this reason, development always begins by defining needs, ideas and concepts.
After this first meeting, we begin a personalised study to present a written proposal with the parameters we consider most suitable. In this phase, unless the options have already been chosen, we propose structures, fibres, densities and finishes:
The proposal will also include delivery times and a personalised quotation. As a small artisan business without subcontracting, our production capacity is limited; for this reason, we always define delivery times or phased deadlines before confirming a project or order
Once the proposal has been confirmed, we weave one or several real samples and send them for assessment before weaving the final textile, making the necessary adjustments.
For projects where the study and sampling development is contracted, the development is completed once the validated sample has been delivered.
If the project includes the weaving of pieces, meterage or series, once the samples have been validated, we carry out the final weaving with full control throughout all stages.
The entire process takes place in our workshop, according to the times defined in the accepted proposal.
The shipping method is also defined in the proposal. To make the process easier, we can coordinate the shipment of samples, prototypes and final textiles in different ways, depending on what is most convenient:
If you need to develop a textile with technical judgement, material coherence and impeccable finishing, we can guide you. Tell us your starting point, the context and what you want to achieve. From there, we work with you or your team step by step, with clear proposals and realistic timings, taking care of every decision in the process with precision. Contact us here.
