Horizons is a textile work framed in olive wood. In it, the lines of the weave symbolise the different realities that can be glimpsed across the various planes or lines of the horizon.
There is no absolute reality, no single real and absolute horizon to look towards, by definition and for all concepts.
This absolute truth can be nuanced by the different realities and emotional situations of the different people who look at it, shaped by multiple conditioning factors that often determine it.
A metaphor for the non-existence of absolute realities, conditioned by different subjective emotional realities.
Techniques and dimensions
This is a handwoven textile made on the loom using a complex variation of the twill technique, on eight shafts. Handwoven on a low-warp loom, with the finest natural alpaca yarns in undyed natural shades of grey, black, brown and beige.
Once removed from the loom, it is mounted on an olive wood frame-support that can be placed on furniture or on the wall, with box-like sides that invite touch and help it maintain its shape.
Dimensions: 22 x 22 x 4.5 cm (width x height x depth).
