The textile art we present arises from a deeply contemporary understanding of the craft. We weave by hand on non-mechanised low-warp looms, using exclusively natural fibres and both simple and complex weave structures to explore the expressive possibilities of textiles beyond everyday use.
Drawing on the technical knowledge accumulated over many years as textile designers and artisans, Francis and I have gradually entered the field of textile art through wall pieces and textile works conceived specifically as artistic creations.
As textile artists, we are particularly interested in the relationship between experiences, memories, emotions and behaviour, and in how this invisible network shapes the way we inhabit the world. Through woven fibre, our work raises questions about the workings of the mind, the management of emotions and their impact on our personal and social relationships.
We seek to create pieces that go beyond visual attraction and encourage a state of awareness, inviting the viewer to pause, look inward and reflect on how memories and emotions are being managed, and how that process is shaping present and future decisions and behaviour.
This page brings together a selection of textile artworks developed in recent years, born from personal reflections on memory, emotion, lived experience and the way all of these leave their mark on us. They are works in continuous evolution through which I seek to open a space for observation and reflection.
