In these artisan loom courses, you will learn to weave by hand with the guidance of an accredited Master Artisan and professional textile artisan working in the field since 2007.
The training is one-to-one and in person, so you can receive direct guidance throughout the course. The approach is intensive and practical, adapted to your pace, your level and your needs, so that you can continue weaving independently with the knowledge you have acquired.
You can choose between a rigid heddle loom, table loom and floor loom. In all three courses, we work with our own methodology, developed through our day-to-day experience in our artisan textile workshop.
The course content is intensive and comprehensive, covering every stage of handweaving:
Designing pieces and choosing fibres.
The calculations required before starting.
Preparing and setting up the warp on the loom.
Study of weave structures.
The weaving process itself.
Solving problems that may arise.
No previous experience is required. If you are starting from scratch, we will begin with the fundamentals. If you already have experience, you will be able to consolidate your knowledge, organise your ideas and discover new weaving practices directly in an active professional workshop.
Whether you come to weaving as a hobby or with a more professional aim, these one-to-one courses give you time to ask me questions directly, experiment and resolve doubts as they arise. The aim is for you to continue working independently and create your own handwoven textiles on a shaft loom.
I have been a professional textile artisan since 2007. I design, create and handweave functional pieces, textiles and artworks on artisan shaft looms.
Over the years, I have developed an in-depth knowledge of weave structures, the behaviour of natural fibres and the possibilities offered by non-mechanised looms, developing my own working and teaching methodology, which is reflected in our pieces and textiles.
In 2024, the Regional Government of Andalusia awarded me the official recognition of Master Artisan in acknowledgement of my professional career, making me the first woman in the province of Jaén to receive this distinction.
Drawing on this professional experience, I teach intensive courses based on the knowledge and practical experience developed in our workshop, with personalised, hands-on training and a clear, carefully developed and proven methodology.

Teachers and training centres wishing to expand their practical knowledge with the guidance of a professional textile artisan and accredited Master Artisan.
You can choose between three types of loom: rigid heddle, table and floor looms. All three are shaft looms, although each offers a different way of working, learning and progressing.
It is the simplest and most manageable option. With folding models available, it allows you to start without previous experience and create straightforward textiles by combining colour and texture. It also requires the lowest initial investment.
This loom allows you to explore weave structures and weaving drafts in greater depth. It is suitable for those who want to expand their possibilities and work with looms from 4 to 16 shafts. It requires training and a moderate investment.
The floor loom offers possibilities similar to the table loom, with greater warp capacity and a more advanced way of weaving by controlling the shafts with treadles. It also requires training and a higher investment.
In addition to the in-person courses at the workshop, I can travel to provide intensive training for educational and cultural institutions, museums and companies.
This format is intended for training programmes and projects that wish to incorporate artisan weaving as a tool for creation, research or learning.

These are one-to-one courses with dedicated individual attention, so that any questions can be resolved immediately. They combine theory and practice, guiding you through weaving on your chosen loom from designing your pieces to the final finishing, covering every stage of the process.
The course includes setting up two warps, one for a sample collection and another for a scarf, so that you can understand, practise and reinforce everything covered during the course.

The natural fibres we will use for weaving.
You only need to bring comfortable clothing suitable for working at the loom, a pencil and a notebook for taking notes.
You do not need to bring your own loom, although you are welcome to do so if you prefer.
The course takes place in our workshop at Casa Forestal El Pilarillo, 7 km from Orcera, in the Sierra de Segura, within the Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas Natural Park.
Access is via a paved mountain road in good condition, and parking is available.
It is a peaceful natural environment with clean air and a rich diversity of flora and fauna.
