The work Glimpses of Consciousness refers to flashes of brain activity. In them, the mind becomes aware of the possibility of solutions or changes in attitude when facing different problems throughout life.
These problems or new situations are accompanied by an overflow of sensations and emotions that make it difficult to move forward. On the one hand, these “glimpses” allow those emotions and feelings to be managed in an orderly and coherent way. On the other, they make it possible to resolve the problem, or to accept in the best possible way a new life situation that has arisen and prevents us from moving forward.
Its name evokes awareness emerging from among the thousands of connected and intertwined thoughts we have throughout our days, as part of the extraordinary framework of our brain’s functioning, which differentiates and conditions each person.

It is woven with two different shuttles: a boat shuttle and a rug shuttle. The fibre used is wool and a cord made of natural fibres, hand-spun with 19 strands of different fibres, including linen, wools, silk, alpaca, mohair and cottons in different colour ranges. This cord is hand-spun with a gentle combined twist, allowing each colour and fibre to remain visible. Each cut portion of cord represents those thoughts of awareness —like glimpses— different from the thousands of thoughts we may have throughout the day.
Once removed from the loom, the piece is mounted on a wooden stretcher, hand-covered with cotton fabric.
