This alpaca scarf is light, warm and made in cool tones; it can look elegant or informal depending on how you style it. It feels soft, flexible, has a pleasant drape and is very comfortable to wear. Without being bulky, it is very warm thanks to the natural qualities of alpaca fibre. It combines with many styles and can be worn in different ways. It works well with any garment, and its natural colour is very easy to combine. It is very warm, thermoregulating, breathable and light. The fringes are knotted, giving a sense of movement. Design

This alpaca scarf, handwoven on a loom, has been woven by hand using the complex lace-weave technique. The result is entirely distinctive: the technique gives the fabric flexibility, transparency, drape and softness, with the appearance of lace or even stained glass filtering the light in a play of light and shadow, bringing an elegant touch to the alpaca textile. It is light, soft, warm and easy to combine.

Colour

We have chosen an undyed natural grey tone, timeless and easy to combine:
  • Warp: natural grey. (The base on which we weave). 
  • Weft : medium natural grey. (The fibre we pass across the base).

Weave and warmth

  • Composition: 100% undyed natural alpaca.
  • Feel: very soft and pleasant to wear.
  • Texture: it has a light texture.
  • Breathability: high; alpaca is a fully breathable fibre.
  • Warmth: high; suitable for cold areas or people who feel the cold easily.

Fibres

  • Alpaca.

    Alpaca comes from the Andes in Peru. It is an exquisite fibre with qualities that give it exceptional quality: it is very soft, very warm, thermoregulating, does not retain odours and, because its structure has very few scales, it does not felt easily. Alpaca pieces provide a great deal of warmth while remaining light, making them very pleasant to wear.

Finishes 

  • Stitching: hand-sewn running stitch on the first and last threads to prevent the fabric from unravelling.
  • Thread finishing: the weft ends are sewn in by hand with a needle at the selvedges, avoiding joining knots in the fabric.
  • Fringes: knotted.
  • Washing: a mano con jabón natural para verificar la calidad de la fibra y la medida final.   En el primer lavado las fibras se recolocan y el tejido toma sus medidas finales. Después con los siguientes lavados a mano, no encoge más.
  • Ironing: hand-steamed to enhance its finishes, drape and texture.
  • Brushing: brushed by hand to give it an even softer, more pleasant feel.

  • Ironing: no special care is required; in general, use the temperature recommended by your iron for the type of fiber. If the piece contains more than one fiber, always choose the lowest temperature.
  • Storage: keep your piece in its box or bag, so it is always ready to use.
