The Ashford Katie 30 cm 8-shaft table loom is the smallest eight-lever loom in the Ashford range: robust, compact and designed for travel. Its eight shafts and folding construction make it easy to store in the included padded travel bag, allowing simple and complex textiles to be woven wherever you choose.

The maximum weaving width is 30 cm. It includes 320 heddles (40 per shaft) and a 40/10 reed, allowing an approximate maximum density of 10 ends per centimetre across the full width.

It is comfortable to work with, with an easy-to-use beater, a wide shed and shafts that move smoothly.

As a professional craftswoman and accredited Master Artisan, I recommend taking a handweaving course on table looms before purchasing this loom. It is not an intuitive loom: it opens the door to the fascinating world of low-warp weaving, weave structures and drafts. Delivery time is approximately 10 to 15 days. As these looms come from New Zealand, delivery times may vary. Delivery is handled by DHL.

To keep your loom in excellent condition for many years, we recommend:

  • Wipe it regularly with a dry cloth to remove dust.
  • Avoid using abrasive or wet products on the wood.
  • If you wish, you may occasionally apply a natural oil suitable for wood to nourish and protect it.
  • Check the tension of the heddles or reed according to use.
  • Store the loom in a dry place, protected from direct sunlight when not in use.
  • For folding models, close the loom correctly to avoid twisting.
