Merino wool blanket handwoven on a loom. This blanket is very soft and pleasant to use. We have woven it with natural merino wool and dyed merino wool, so that you feel warmly wrapped and it helps you stay comfortable while you rest, while also remaining breathable and very easy to use. It is a highly versatile blanket that works well with many different interior styles, for a sofa, an armchair, a bed… It can be combined with the cushions. The fabric has a medium density and a high capacity for warmth.

Design

We have woven this merino wool blanket by hand using an elaborate twill-variation technique, creating a textured, distinctive fabric with geometric lines. After all the finishing processes, we brushed it to make it even softer and fuller. The fringes have been kept short so the blanket is more comfortable to use and has a more elegant appearance.

Colour

We have chosen a light beige tone, elegant and easy to combine.
  • Warp: light beige. (The base on which we weave). 
  • Weft: light beige. (The fibre we pass across the base).

Weave and warmth

  • Composition: 100% merino wool in a fine, extra-soft yarn.
  • Feel: very soft, with a flexible body.
  • Texture: a very pleasant medium texture.
  • Breathability: high, a natural characteristic of wool fibre.
  • Warmth: high; it is warm and comforting.

Fibres

  • Merino wool.

Merino wool is a fibre obtained from the fleece of sheep. There are different types of wool depending on the breed of sheep; one of the finest qualities comes from merino sheep. It is a very soft, flexible, breathable and warm wool that holds colour beautifully.

Finishing 

  • Stitching: hand-sewn running stitch on the first and last threads to prevent the fabric from unravelling.
  • Thread finishing: weft threads are manually woven back into the selvedges with a needle to avoid joining knots in the fabric.
  • Fringes: short and comfortable.
  • Washing: hand washed with natural soap to verify the quality of the fibre, the dyeing and the final measurements.   In the first wash, the fibres settle into place and the fabric reaches its final dimensions. With subsequent hand washes, it will not shrink further.
  • Ironing: hand finished with steam to enhance its finish, drape and texture.
  • Brushing: brushed by hand to increase its softness.

  • Washing: hand wash with mild detergent and cold water.
  • Drying: wrap a towel around the clothesline, secure it with two pegs, and hang the piece vertically to avoid marks and make ironing easier if needed.
  • Ironing: no special care is required; in general, use the temperature recommended by your iron for the type of fiber. If the piece contains more than one fiber, always choose the lowest temperature.
  • Storage: keep your piece in its box or bag, so it is always ready to use.
