Handwoven silk and alpaca scarf. This scarf is sophisticated, elegant, timeless and easy to combine. It brings together the advantages of both fibres: silk adds softness, thermoregulation and a unique subtle sheen, while alpaca adds quality and warmth. It is very pleasant to the touch, soft, flexible and with a slightly dense body. It is an exceptional scarf, extra soft and pleasant, light and warm at the same time. Very versatile and easy to combine, in natural tones, it works with many styles, with coats, jackets, shirts or any other garment. It is very comfortable to wear, like a caress. The fringes have been twisted and knotted to keep them neat and give a more elegant appearance. For those who love light, warm, soft, sophisticated scarves.

Design

We have handwoven this silk and alpaca scarf on our looms with a design of clearly marked geometric motifs, in a striking complex twill variation. By weaving it with fine alpaca, we have achieved a lightweight yet slightly dense fabric that adds extra warmth.

Colour

We have chosen two combined colours, timeless and easy to wear:
  • Warp: natural white. (The base on which we weave).
  • Weft: black. (The fibre we pass across the base).

Fabric and warmth

  • Composition: 60% silk, 40% alpaca.
  • Feel: very soft, with a beautiful drape.
  • Texture: light texture.
  • Breathability: high, thanks to the combination of two breathable fibres.
  • Warmth: high; the combination of both fibres makes it very warm without being heavy.

Fibres

  • Silk.

    Silk is a sophisticated, soft, strong and durable fibre, with a satin sheen that makes it unmistakable. It is breathable and has thermoregulating properties, making it especially suitable for keeping warmth close to the skin, particularly around the neck. It is a noble fibre of recognised quality. Our silk is spun slightly thicker, which makes it fresh or warm depending on how it is worn, with a feel that is different from industrial silk.

  • Alpaca.

Alpaca comes from the Andes, in Peru. It is an exquisite fibre with a series of qualities that give it exceptional quality: it is very soft, very warm, thermoregulating, does not retain odours and, because its structure has very few scales, it does not felt easily. Alpaca pieces provide a great deal of warmth while remaining light, and are very pleasant to wear.

Finishes

  • Stitching: hand-worked running stitch on the first and last threads so the fabric does not unravel.
  • Weft ends: manually woven in with a needle at the selvedges to avoid knots in the fabric.
  • Fringes: twisted and knotted for an elegant finish.
  • Washing: hand washed with natural soap to check the quality of the fibre and the final measurements. In the first wash, the fibres settle and the fabric reaches its final size. After subsequent hand washes, it does not shrink further.
  • Ironing: hand pressed with steam to enhance the finish, drape and texture.

To keep your piece as impeccable as the first day, please follow these care recommendations:

  • Washing: hand wash with mild detergent and cold water.
  • Drying: wrap a towel around the clothesline, secure it with two pegs, and hang the piece vertically to avoid marks and make ironing easier if needed.
  • Ironing: no special care is required; in general, use the temperature recommended by your iron for the type of fiber. If the piece contains more than one fiber, always choose the lowest temperature.
  • Storage: keep your piece in its box or bag, so it is always ready to use.
