This baby alpaca and silk scarf is light, warm, in warm and cool colours, very distinctive and pleasant to wear. It feels light, extremely soft, flexible and flowing. Fully adaptable and comfortable, it provides high warmth thanks to the combination of the two fibres spun together. It looks beautiful with any garment and is very easy to combine because of its range of colours, adding a touch of colour to your style. It is very warm, thermoregulating, breathable and light. Design

We have handwoven this baby alpaca and silk scarf using a complex lace-weave technique. Completely different from industrial fabric, this technique gives the textile flexibility, transparency, drape and softness, with an appearance reminiscent of lace or even stained glass, filtering the light through a play of light and shadow. It is a unique and singular baby alpaca and silk fabric.

Colour

We have chosen a blend of colours and tones to make it very easy to combine.
  • Warp: red, mauve, blue, green and lilac. (The base on which we weave).
  • Weft: blue. (The fibre we pass across the base).

Fabric and warmth

  • Composition: 60% baby alpaca, 40% silk.
  • Feel: very soft and pleasant to wear.
  • Texture: light texture.
  • Breathability: high, thanks to the combination of two breathable fibres.
  • Warmth: high, suitable for cold areas or people who feel the cold easily.

Fibres

  • Alpaca.

    Alpaca comes from the Andes, in Peru. It is an exquisite fibre with a series of qualities that give it exceptional quality: it is very soft, very warm, thermoregulating, does not retain odours and, because its structure has very few scales, it does not felt easily. Alpaca pieces provide a great deal of warmth while remaining light, and are very pleasant to wear.

  • Silk.

Silk is a sophisticated, soft, strong and durable fibre, with a satin sheen that makes it unmistakable. It is breathable and has thermoregulating properties, making it especially suitable for keeping warmth close to the skin, particularly around the neck. It is a noble fibre of recognised quality.

Finishes

  • Stitching: hand-worked running stitch on the first and last threads so the fabric does not unravel.
  • Weft ends: manually woven in with a needle at the selvedges to avoid knots in the fabric.
  • Fringes: knotted.
  • Washing: hand washed with natural soap to check the quality of the fibre and the final measurements. In the first wash, the fibres settle and the fabric reaches its final size. After subsequent hand washes, it does not shrink further.
  • Ironing: hand pressed with steam to enhance the finish, drape and texture.
  • Brushing: brushed by hand to give an even softer, more pleasant feel when worn.

To keep your piece as impeccable as the first day, please follow these care recommendations:

  • Washing: hand wash with mild detergent and cold water.
  • Drying: wrap a towel around the clothesline, secure it with two pegs, and hang the piece vertically to avoid marks and make ironing easier if needed.
  • Ironing: no special care is required; in general, use the temperature recommended by your iron for the type of fiber. If the piece contains more than one fiber, always choose the lowest temperature.
  • Storage: keep your piece in its box or bag, so it is always ready to use.
