This alpaca scarf is light, warm and in cool tones, elegant or informal depending on how you style it. It feels soft, flexible, flowing and very pleasant to wear; without being bulky, it is very warm thanks to the natural qualities of alpaca fibre. It works with many styles and can be worn in several ways. It looks beautiful with any garment and its natural colour is very easy to combine. It is very warm, thermoregulating, breathable and light. Design

We have handwoven this alpaca scarf using a complex lace-weave technique. It is a very distinctive piece; this technique brings flexibility, transparency, drape and softness to the fabric, with an appearance reminiscent of lace or even stained glass, filtering the light through a play of light and shadow. It adds a touch of elegance to the alpaca fabric. It is light, soft, warm and easy to combine.

Colour

We have chosen a natural undyed grey tone, timeless and easy to wear:
  • Warp: natural light grey. (The base on which we weave).
  • Weft: natural light grey. (The fibre we pass across the base).

Fabric and warmth

  • Composition: 100% natural undyed alpaca.
  • Feel: very soft and pleasant to wear.
  • Texture: light texture.
  • Breathability: high; alpaca is a fully breathable fibre.
  • Warmth: high, suitable for cold areas or people who feel the cold easily.

Fibres

  • Alpaca.

    Alpaca comes from the Andes, in Peru. It is an exquisite fibre with a series of qualities that give it exceptional quality: it is very soft, very warm, thermoregulating, does not retain odours and, because its structure has very few scales, it does not felt easily. Alpaca pieces provide a great deal of warmth while remaining light, and are very pleasant to wear.

Finishes

  • Stitching: hand-worked running stitch on the first and last threads so the fabric does not unravel.
  • Weft ends: manually woven in with a needle at the selvedges to avoid knots in the fabric.
  • Fringes: knotted.
  • Washing: hand washed with natural soap to check the quality of the fibre and the final measurements. In the first wash, the fibres settle and the fabric reaches its final size. After subsequent hand washes, it does not shrink further.
  • Ironing: hand pressed with steam to enhance the finish, drape and texture.
  • Brushing: brushed by hand to give an even softer, more pleasant feel when worn.

To keep your piece as impeccable as the first day, please follow these care recommendations:

  • Washing: hand wash with mild detergent and cold water.
  • Drying: wrap a towel around the clothesline, secure it with two pegs, and hang the piece vertically to avoid marks and make ironing easier if needed.
  • Ironing: no special care is required; in general, use the temperature recommended by your iron for the type of fiber. If the piece contains more than one fiber, always choose the lowest temperature.
  • Storage: keep your piece in its box or bag, so it is always ready to use.
