Handwoven vegan recycled cotton pouf. This pouf belongs to the “El Eterno Vaquero” collection; it is distinctive and comfortable. With a very pleasant feel, we have woven it by hand on our artisan looms using recycled cotton from jeans and mercerised cotton. Its fabric is very different from conventional denim because of its rounded geometric patterns, density and texture. It is resistant, very comfortable to use, durable and comfortable. The filling, which does not come into contact with the skin, is lined with cotton fabric; it is a high-density foam that more than supports the weight and offers long durability. It is a very versatile piece that adapts to many interior styles, creating a very special focal point. It combines well with the cushions from the same collection. Design

This handwoven vegan recycled cotton pouf has been woven on our loom using an elaborate variation of the technique known as “honeycomb”, creating a distinctive textured fabric with gentle undulations that form outlined oval shapes. We weave with two shuttles to combine the two cottons and colours. It is a high-quality upholstery fabric, with medium density and low warmth. The side panels are made from the same recycled cotton fabric, produced by the same Spanish company that prepares the yarn for this recycled denim cotton. We have machine-sewn them with overlocked seams so the fabric does not unravel, and we have added a zip so the cover can be removed and washed comfortably. It has already been washed and ironed. The filling, which does not come into contact with the skin, is made from high-density foam that supports weight well and offers long durability. It is also lined with cotton fabric.

Colour

It has the same colour in both directions.
  • Warp: dark blue recycled denim cotton. The base on which we weave. 
  • Weft: dark blue and light blue recycled denim cotton. Some variations include different colours of mercerised cotton. The fibre we pass across the base.

Weave and warmth

  • Composition: 100% recycled denim cotton, or 90% recycled denim cotton and 10% mercerised cotton.
  • Feel: soft and substantial.
  • Texture: medium texture.
  • Breathability: high; cotton is a breathable fibre.
  • Warmth: low.

Fibres

  • 100% organic recycled denim cotton.

    This cotton is a sustainable fibre, made in Spain from recycled jeans, organic cotton and Lenzing re-fibre, a fibre composed of 70% FSC-certified wood cellulose and 30% recycled cotton cellulose, without PET. It is a soft, adaptable fibre and very pleasant to use. It is strong and durable. Like other cotton fibres, depending on the thickness of the yarn, it can be used in summer when fine and fresh, or in winter when thicker and warmer.

  • Mercerised cotton.

Mercerised cotton is a fibre with a moderate sheen and great resistance to wear, provided by the mercerisation treatment. It is a soft, flexible and durable fibre that allows for a wide range of colours.

Finishes

  • Stitching: overlock stitching by machine with a double needle, so the fabric does not unravel.
  • Sewing: machine-sewn in our workshop.
  • Assembly: carried out by us in our workshop.
  • Zip: sewn into the base to make the cover easy to remove and wash.
  • Washing: hand-washed with natural soap to verify the quality of the fibre, the dyeing and the final size. In the first wash, the fibres settle and the fabric reaches its final dimensions. After subsequent hand washes, it does not shrink further.
  • Ironing: hand-ironed with steam to enhance its finish and texture.

To keep your piece as impeccable as the first day, please follow these care recommendations:

  • Washing: hand wash with mild detergent and cold water.
  • Drying: wrap a towel around the clothesline, secure it with two pegs, and hang the piece vertically to avoid marks and make ironing easier if needed.
  • Ironing: no special care is required; in general, use the temperature recommended by your iron for the type of fiber. If the piece contains more than one fiber, always choose the lowest temperature.
  • Storage: keep your piece in its box or bag, so it is always ready to use.
