Curly merino wool scarf. This merino wool scarf in vibrant colours is fluffy and soft, with a very pleasant, almost cotton-like feel. The yarn has a wavy twist that gives it thickness and a distinctive, expressive appearance. It is a breathable scarf and very comfortable to wear. The fringes are knotted, giving a sense of movement. A voluminous, easy-to-wear and very warm scarf.

Design

This handwoven merino wool scarf is a joy of colour. Vibrant, expressive red, orange and green meet in a warm, fluffy and exceptionally soft scarf.

Colour

We have chosen these colours to create a cheerful, balanced combination that is easy to wear:
  • Warp: red, orange and green. (The base on which we weave). 
  • Weft: mauve. (The fibre we pass across the base).

Fabric and warmth

  • Composition: 100% merino wool with a curly-spun yarn for thickness and softness.
  • Feel: very soft, with a flexible body; almost cotton-like.
  • Texture: it has a thick texture, so it is warm without feeling overwhelming.
  • Breathability: high, a characteristic of wool fibre.
  • Warmth: very high, recommended for very cold days.

Fibres

  • Merino wool.

Merino wool is a fibre obtained from sheep fleece. There are different types of wool depending on the breed of sheep; one of the highest quality wools comes from the merino sheep. It is very soft, flexible, breathable and warm, and holds colour beautifully.

Finishes 

  • Hemstitch: hand-stitched on the first and last threads so the fabric does not unravel.
  • Thread finishing: the weft threads are sewn back by hand with a needle along the selvedges, avoiding knots in the fabric.
  • Fringes: along the full length on both sides. The base fringes are knotted to add rhythm and movement.
  • Washing: hand-washed in our workshop with natural soap to verify the quality of the fibre, the dyeing and the final measurements. During the first wash the fibres settle and the fabric reaches its final size. Afterwards, with careful hand-washing, it will not shrink further.
  • Ironing: hand-pressed with steam to enhance the finish, drape and texture.

  • Washing: hand wash with mild detergent and cold water.
  • Drying: wrap a towel around the clothesline, secure it with two pegs, and hang the piece vertically to avoid marks and make ironing easier if needed.
  • Ironing: no special care is required; in general, use the temperature recommended by your iron for the type of fiber. If the piece contains more than one fiber, always choose the lowest temperature.
  • Storage: keep your piece in its box or bag, so it is always ready to use.
