The workshop is located in the Sierra de Segura, 7 km from Orcera, in a unique setting: Casa Forestal El Pilarillo, built around 1901 and fully restored by us to house the workshop and become our home.
The house is situated just a few metres from one of the long-distance trails, GR 247, “Los Bosques del Sur”, Stage 1, “Área recreativa Peña del Olivar – Segura de la Sierra”, which connects with different destinations, hamlets and villages within the Cazorla, Segura and Las Villas Natural Park.
The climate is mountainous, with cold winters and summer nights cool enough to rest well. Surrounded by nature, with views in shades of green, blue and ochre, and with diverse flora and fauna, we breathe tranquillity, calm and serenity. This is our home, our workshop, where we live, find inspiration and create.
We decided to settle in this forest house because it seemed the ideal place to continue our work in a mountain area, surrounded by nature.
It was not easy, due to its location within the Cazorla, Segura and Las Villas Natural Park, but thanks to perseverance and the support we finally received, the new project we had presented came to life: a project to recover, establish, develop and share the craft of handweaving on low-warp looms, which had disappeared from Jaén.
From 2015 onwards, we began this new path at Casa Forestal El Pilarillo. From here, in addition to the work linked to our workshop, with fine craft and quiet luxury pieces, we offer the possibility of personalised free guided visits, courses, and the option to order or purchase a beautiful artisan loom.
During the visits, you can see the looms in operation while we explain, in general terms, the craft and world of handwoven textiles. You can visit the exhibition of finished pieces and the shop, while enjoying the surroundings in the heart of the Sierra de Segura. You can book your visit here. Contact
